How to use this tool
Compound annual growth rate, or CAGR, expresses the constant annual percentage growth needed to move from a starting value to an ending value over a specified number of years. It smooths out volatility, so it does not show the actual path of an investment. The calculation requires positive starting and ending values and a positive time period. Additional contributions or withdrawals can make CAGR misleading; use a cash-flow-aware return measure for those situations.
